This is us

We believe in the Swedish engineering philosophy as applying deep systems thinking, collaboration, and consensus-driven development to create technology that is safe, sustainable, and seamlessly integrated into human environments.

It’s a way of working where the whole matters more than the individual parts, and where teams co-create solutions that are trustworthy and resilient.

At Sentient, we bring this philosophy to life by placing software, electronics, hardware engineering, design, and operations in the same space.

Working side-by-side lets us move from a first whiteboard sketch to a finished, integrated product with speed and clarity.

With all key competencies under one roof, we design solutions together — writing production software, developing electronics and hardware, and rapidly building and refining prototypes just steps from where ideas begin.

This shoulder-to-shoulder approach turns collaboration into a practical engineering method and enables us to build systems that are holistic, reliable, and ready for the real world.

Curiosity and a passion for technology

You might recognize yourself in one of our competence areas — or in several. If you share our curiosity and our ambition to make technology more human, you’ll fit well here. And if you don’t see an exact match, get in touch anyway. Good ideas often appear when different skills meet in unexpected ways.

Competence areas

Our electric hardware engineers take responsibility for everything that happens when electronics meet the real world. They design, optimize, and robustify control systems and hardware that must operate under demanding conditions – without compromising on safety.

Our platform developers build the technical backbone that the rest of our solutions rely on. They design and maintain a modular, scalable, and robust software architecture that enables fast and secure development across the organization. Their work ensures that new features and products can be built efficiently on a solid foundation.

Our application developers turn ideas into in-vehicle experiences. They develop functions the driver can actually feel – from the steering response to how the car behaves in critical situations. Here, algorithms, real-time constraints, and user experience come together into a seamless whole.

Our verification and validation engineers test, measure, evaluate, and challenge system behavior so that we can deliver with maximum trust and confidence.

Our functional safety engineers ensure that safety is built in from the very beginning by analyzing risks, defining safety concepts, and following the entire development chain to protect the driver, passengers, and everyone around the vehicle.

Our cybersecurity engineers ensure compliance with UNECE R155 and ISO/SAE 21434 across the entire vehicle lifecycle. They design secure architectures, define and implement cybersecurity controls, perform threat analysis and risk assessments, and verify that our systems meet all regulatory and industry requirements for robust, auditable, and continuously managed cyber protection.

Our project managers weave together people and technology, keep us on course, guide teams through complex decisions, and ensure we deliver the right solution at the right time – without losing sight of quality, safety, creativity, or long-term thinking.

Our mechanical engineers ensure that the vehicle’s physical world interacts perfectly with its intelligent software. They work with structures, mechanisms, chassis, motion, and vibrations – everything that affects how the car actually behaves on the road. By combining simulation, prototype development, and testing, they create solutions that are robust, manufacturable, and deliver the right driving experience.

Our quality assurance engineers work proactively to build quality into both the product and the production process.
They also play a key role in claim-handling – not only by solving the immediate issue, but by tracing root causes and feeding insights back into our way of working. We see deviations as learning experiences – learning Don’ts is always as important as learning Do’s – and use them to strengthen our products, our processes, and ultimately the trust our customers place in us.

Our sustainability engineers ensure that we develop solutions that work for both people and the planet. They analyze materials, energy, life cycles, and impact, and integrate sustainability as a natural part of both technical decisions and business strategy.
