X-by-Wire

Hydraulics play a central role in the performance and reliability of articulated vehicles across construction, mining, forestry, and agriculture. The value comes from delivering high power density, precise control, and robust handling in demanding environments—enabling safe operation and productivity.

Now we add digital control to the hydraulics with a safe interface with full redundancy for steering and braking. We call it X-by Wire. This will make the machines future proof for automated control, with a strong benefit for economy.

But all driving will not be automated immediately, and some driving will always require a sentient human for safe and efficient and operation. With X-by-Wire it is possible to improve ergonomics with alternative control concepts e. g. joysticks, allowing for an optimised cab layout with better visibility. The steering wheel efforts can be lowered, and the driving experience can be more modern with a natural return to centre. X-by-Wire will also allow for remote control of the machines.
